KHAN HE SAVE THE PLANET?

The year 2050 is going to be a big one for for me – I’ll be 100 years old.

And I’m going to be out celebrating like crazy – not my birthday but British net zero.

We made it guys, we made it. The planet is saved. All thanks to the people of the UK who have done it singlehandedly. And we have to thank our politicians.

The Mayor of London Khan who with his Ultra Ultra Low Emissions Tax kept old bangers off the streets of London to stop their emissions. (Oh by the way £259 ULEZ will be at least £2500 at today’s values – taxes never go down.)

Our streets will be lined with Teslas and other electric cars although no one is sure where the electricity is coming from. Just a detail.

Delighted with his Teslas, Elon Musk continues to fire his rockets into space at around 50 tonnes of CO2 a shot.

Over in the US, Amazon Man Jeff Bezos is building data centers and these babies generate 1 per cent of the world’s CO2 – so incidentally about the same as all of the UK.

Now I’m not suggesting that the UK should not do its bit for the environment. Covid showed us that there are economic and educational effects from the lockdown.

But it won’t be much fun living in a C02-free world in abject poverty.

We need a measured approach and it has to be global – some chance.

By the way if you want to enter the ULEZ buy yourself a 40-year old Citroen 2CV.

Bon Voyage.

Tom
